My Year In Review

Hey fabulous readers!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season- I know I am!  I'll admit it has been tough trying to decide what to write about next.  However, while reflecting on this past year the other day I remembered my {Beauty Resolutions} I put together at the end of 2011. Here is a reminder of the goals I set.

The goals I set for 2012 are:

1. Remove makeup every evening before bed.  I have a bad habit of going to bed with my makeup on.  This is a huge cause of the early morning blemishes we all hate so much!  This is something that needs to become apart of my nighttime routine, but until then it is apart of my 30 day challenge.

2. Use my Clarisonic at least once a day when washing my face.  Click HERE to read about the benefits of the Clarisonic.

3. Hit the gym a minimum of twice a week.  Since I am graduating in May I have made a promise to myself that I will leave College in the same shape I was in when I entered 3 years ago.  I know I will most likely go more then twice a week but I do not want to set a goal I will not stick with.

4. Remove my makeup before heading to the gym.  Working out with your makeup on is terrible for your face.  It makes it hard for your pours to breath and this is another cause of blemishes.  Remember to wash your face after your workout as well.  A clean face is a happy face before, during and after your workout! :)

5. Cut down on the junk food.  I'm your typical junk food junkie and I would rather eat a bag of candy then an apple.  Its time too break down and put the apple before the candy!

Let me be honest.... these were not achieved- but I did try!  I did manage to remove my makeup before bed, and use my Clarisonic at least once a day for the first month.  However, hitting the gym twice a week, removing my makeup before working out and cutting down on junk food never really happened for more than a few weeks here and a few weeks there.  How did you do on your 2012 resolutions?

I am awesome at setting goals.  However, I am horrible at achieving them for the most part.  Once again I am going to set a few small goals and try to achieve them as we move into the new year.

Additionally, I have a few small ideas for my blog for the new year.  I have thought about a few daily vlogs and a few other posts that might be fun.  Would you be interested in seeing a daily vlog every now and again?

I hope you had an amazing Christmas to those who celebrate.  I am looking forward to kicking off the new year with you here in a few days.  Until then, enjoy the last few days of 2012!

In the news: Is Target cutting their employees time from family?

Hey everyone!

Yesterday as I am skimming the Yahoo headlines I found an article on Target.

Target is planning on opening their doors at 9:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving.  To the crazy Black Friday shoppers this is a miracle.  However, to the employees who will have to be pulled away from their family it is more of a nightmare.

I understand the thoughts behind opening earlier.  However, if I were the CEO of Target I would be making sure that my employees were compensated in some way for coming in early.  Maybe their families get a sneak peak of the discounts, maybe they are given a paid vacation day even if they are not full time, or maybe from 9:00 p.m- 12:00 a.m. on Friday morning those employees are paid time and a half.  I don't make the rules by any means but I do wish that the employees are compensated in one way or another.

What is your opinion on the situation?  Do you think employees have the right to be upset about opening that late on Friday?  Do you think Target should compensate them for working a National Holiday?

Let me know if the comments below about your thoughts on this situation.  I would love to hear your oppinions and your feedback.  In case you are in need of the link to the article please click TARGET!

Making a come back...

Hello to my lovely readers that are still out there.

Where has time gone?  The last thing I know it was May and I just graduated from college, moved home and started a new job.  Of course the new chapter of my life came with new friends, a boyfriend and adult responsibilities.

So my excuse for not blogging?  I really don't have one other than I have just not found the time to do so.  I will admit I miss writing to you a few times a week about random things in my life, my thoughts, or the new fashions that are out.

Recently I have had a lot of time on my hands with not much to do.  So I have decided to make some type of come back and try to win you over again with my blogs.  I know that this will take time of course and it will take some effort and hard work on my end but I am willing to give it a go.

Please stick with me as I take time to put together a blog for later on this week.  (Maybe I'll write on the new Ugg collection that is out, a holiday guide or just a random thought blog.)

I hope you are well.  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first!

Quick Question: I need your help

Hey everyone- how are you?  I hope you are all doing fabulous!

I am in the process of cleaning out my room so I have a place to store my college items.  As I am going through my room I have decided that it is time to remove some of my trophies.

Do you have an organization tips on how to keep them nice in storage?

Any tips that you have are greatly appreciated!

When the going gets tough...

Hey everyone.

Do you ever have a bad day where you feel like nothings going right and there is no way it is going to get better?  Well I can say I had one of those days today.  So please excuse me while I vent a little.

I never really noticed how rude people are until I started in the sales industry.  Now I know people don't like sales people to call because it usually seems to be a disruption to their day.  I actually had someone tell me today that my call was disruptive.  Now I know that this person is not mad at me, or the company I called from because they order on occasion.  However, it is hard for me to just laugh things off or let them roll off my back.  While I am trying to learn not to take things personally, I am slowly starting to realize this is a harder task than I thought.  I am finding this to be a challenge because quite frankly... I have thin skin.  Yes you yelling at me on the phone hurts my feelings, yes you hanging up on me makes me feel like I'm not good at my job and yes you becoming frustrated with me makes me want to pull my hair out.  Please know, I am only doing my job like you are doing yours.  I promise there are a few things I would rather be doing than talking to you.  Please try and make our conversation as comfortable and painless as possible.

Most of you know I try to think of others and be as good to them as possible.  I try to do whatever I can to make someones day a little brighter.  Usually I try and tell myselfmto make someone new smile today.  (Many of you may not know this is a goal I have everyday)  If I can make one persons day a little brighter I feel 100% successful for that day.  With these rude gate keepers I am realizing the person who's day I need to make is my own.

With only 11 days on the phone I am coming to find out I don't know nearly as much as I thought and I have a lot left to learn.  My new goal is to try and learn from every call I make.  What phrases work and what phrases don't work.  When is the best time to call and who do I need to talk to.  I'm hoping that if I can accomplish this I will be able to have a better day at work and then concentrate on the happiness of the people I call.

I appreciate you allowing me to vent to you.  Usually my posts are upbeat and fun.  However, tonight I just wanted to talk to all of you... my friends! :)

I hope that you have had a good start to your week.  As I remember the importance to keep my head up I ask you to do the same this week.  Together lets try and look at things with a different attitude.  Lets work hard and learn from our mistakes.  I hope you have a fantastic night.  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You  and remember, nice girls always finish first.

Thanks for reading,

Describe your family in one picture

The Snyder Family Featuring:
Big Bob, Dsnyd and Me... Hoss!
Yes I have nicknames for my parents!  Yes my mom calls me Hoss! :)

This picture describes my family perfectly.  My dad and I are the trouble makers.  My mom is usually rolling her eyes at us or shaking her head because we do something ridiculous.  I thought this would be fun to share with all of you.

Do you have a picture that describes your family?  I would love to see them.  Feel free to send them over to me at allamericannicegirl@yahoo.com- if I receive enough pictures I will post them in a blog.

I hope you have had an amazing Wednesday.  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first.

Life Update: College Graduation, Moving Home & a 40hr work week

HELLO READERS!

I apologize for my absence.  With graduation, moving home and starting a new job all in May I was a little over whelmed to put it lightly.  I needed a little time to get adjusted before I lost myself in my blog posts again. :)  Trust me when I say I have missed writing to all of you.

To those who have left comments: thank you for reminding me that it is important to keep writing.  I had no idea everyone missed reading my blogs so much.  So I apologize again for my absence.

I can say that graduating college was one of the hardest things I have had to do so far in life.  Leaving my tiny RA dorm room, saying my goodbyes to close friends, and driving away from BW are just a few of the hard things I have encountered.

Moving home has been fabulous.  I love being at home with my parents.  My mom doing my laundry, food that is not from the BW union and not having to shower in flip flops are just a few of my favorites.

Also many of you know I have started a new full time job.  All I can say is WOW!  I knew one day I would be working 40 hours a week but I didn't know I would be doing it at such a young age.  I will say that accepting my job has been one of the best decisions of my life.  I love the company.  Their morals and values stand true to who I am.  Additionally, I love my co-workers.  I never knew an 8 hour day could be full of small giggles that turn into a 10 minute conversation about something funny that just happened on the phone.  Although it has been a challenging transition, I'm glad I have been able to go through this time in my life with people who are supportive and welcoming.  I can only hope I will be with this company for years to come.

I hope this quick update gives you a chance to catch up with where I have been.  I also hope that you can accept my apology for leaving you all hanging out in the wind.  I promise I am back to continue writing.  Please leave any and all blog requests in the comments below.  I would like to start back up with some topics of your choice.

I hope you all are enjoying the beginning of your summer!  I know I am!  Fingers crossed there are no type-o's in here.  I'm writing this at 10:30pm... aka my midnight on these working days! lol

Ponytail Wednesday: The Sock Bun

Happy Ponytail Wednesday!

The sock bun may not be your average ponytail but I love them!  However, that doesn't mean I know how to do them!  I need to check out a tutorial ASAP.

I do know that a lot of people will sleep in a sock bun and in the morning they have soft beautiful curls.

Do any of you rock the sock bun during the week?  If you do what are your tips for making it look fabulous?  I would love some advice in the comments below.

I hope you have a great Wednesday!  I know that I am having a much better day today now that my paper is finally done and turned in.  However, I am still crossing things off my to do list one thing at a time.  Keep up your hard work for the next few weeks if you are getting ready for graduation or are just feeling the effects of a long semester!  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first!

Goodbye Shoes

Ever wake up on the wrong side of the bed?  Well I swear it seems as if I woke up on the wrong side this morning even though I woke up exactly where I always do.  Today is one of those I HATE Monday days.  I woke up in a bad mood, I have a 12 page paper due on Wednesday that cannot seem to start itself, I'm dreading night class and I have a meeting that I have no time for today.

Ohhhhh 20 days until graduation... that's what I keep telling myself!

When I have a bad day I throw on a pair of fabulous shoes to make me feel better.  I like to think of these as my goodbye shoes.  Goodbye stress, goodbye bad day, goodbye bad mood shoes.  As strange as it sounds it works every time.  Although my shoes are sitting at home in my closet just the thought of my pretty Swarovski Crystal Jimmy Choo's can brighten my day!

Another favorite way to brighten up my day is to listen to a few songs that have a nice kick to them!  I've really been enjoying Carrie Underwood's Good Girl.  Not only is it a great song it also talks about my goodbye shoes!  Even though it is in a different way.  If you haven't heard it already... CHECK IT OUT!

I hope your having a better day then me!!  Let me know in the comments below how you deal with having a bad day!  I would love to read them!  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first!

Ponytail Wednesday: High School Throwback

Happy ponytail Wednesday!

I was looking through my old Facebook pictures the other day and came across this cheer picture from high school.

I used to have these great ponytails during high school that I loved!  However, I cannot figure out how to get my hair to look like this anymore.  Maybe some play time in the mirror will help me get back into these cute pony's!

Is there a hairstyle that you used to love but can no longer do?  Let me know in the comments below!  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first!

Have a great Wednesday!

Spring Trend: Colored Denim

Hey everyone!

Colored denim is a huge trend this year!  I love the bright colors.  I do not think I would be reaching for pastel denim but I know some of you might.  I would love to know what colors you reach for.  Are you rocking a bright pastel or a hot neon?  I cannot wait to get my hands on a fabulous pair of yellow skinny jeans.  I'm sure it will be one of the first things I buy when I get my first big girl pay check in May!

I was searching around on the internet for the right colors for this post and I came across the Brittney Ankle Skinny Jeans from Guess.  The reason I chose this style because it is offered not only in the bright colors but also in the pretty spring pastels.  This is the perfect style for any nice girl looking for colored denim.

I personally do not own this style of denim but I will definitely give it a try the next time I'm at the mall!

Guess? Brittney Ankle Skinny Jeans

Graduation Dresses & Accessories

Hello my graduation beauties!

Whether you are graduating high school or college you are going to need a fabulous dress under that awful graduation robe.   I had a horrible time finding the perfect graduation outfit.  Either I found the perfect shoes or I found the perfect dress.  I finally decided on a dress but I’m still looking for the perfect shoes to finish the outfit.  Many of you know I have been planning on wearing the same shoes I did when I graduated high school back in 2009 just for sentimental reasons.  And because they are hot shoes!  But after much consideration I decided that wearing heels on a football field is not practical (more on shoes at the end of this post).

Last weekend my mom surprised me with two new dresses that will be perfect for any summer occasion – graduation, weddings, nice dinner out, etc.  Also, today I found a few more while out shopping.  I thought I would share these with you so you could get an idea of the styles that are available this season.

*All of these dresses are Jersey knit material or very similar.  They are stretchy and comfortable.  If it helps I am a size medium in all of these dresses.

1. Cache: Prism Stud Dress- $148.00
I love the collar and the shade of pink of this dress.  The small detail at the waist helps to accentuate and show off your curves.

2. New York & Company: Matte Jersey Wrap Dress- $23.47
I love, love, love this dress!  Although the blue is not my normal shade of cobalt blue it is still fabulous.  The tie at the waist is fabulous because you have the opportunity to pull it as tight or as loose as you want.

3.Cache: Lace up Shoulder Dress- $158.00
I am not a fan of this dress in the coral but I do think this is a fierce dress in the bright blue and in the black.  My mom and I did decide that because the detail on the dress is gold the black dress may be a bit too formal for graduation.  But in the bright tropical blue it is perfect for a spring/ summer graduation!

4. Cache: Lace Up Sheath Dress- $168.00
Another fabulous dress from Cache.  Again, my mom and I decided it may be a bit too formal for graduation but this one is so cute.  I love the lace detail down the side.  There are great shoes at Dillard’s that would be perfect for this dress.  So if you are interested, you would not have a problem finding shoes to compliment your new dress.

5. New York & Company: Knot Shoulder Matte Jersey Dress- $29.97
I have this dress in a bright tangerine!  I’m pretty sure this is the dress I will be wearing to graduation.  I’m excited to search for some fabulous shoes!  I love the dainty shoulder knot.  It’s cute and it adds a small detail to the top of the dress.  I’m not a fan of this one in purple, but I was not able to find it in orange online.

When getting ready for the big day there are a few things to keep in mind when putting together the finishing touches.

1. If you are graduating on a football field consider cute wedges instead of heels.  I know I would not want to ruin a new pair of shoes by the heel going down in the ground and getting dirty.  Wedges tend to be more comfortable anyway.  So if you will be standing a lot they may be the perfect shoe for you.

2. You never know when it is going to be windy outside so you should always be prepared for the worst.  Pack a small bottle of hairspray and a comb in a small purse and leave it with your family.  If you need a quick touch up before pictures you have everything you need.

3. SPANX are a must for everyone regardless of size when dressing up, especially in summer’s lighter weight fabrics.  Proper foundation pieces such as SPANX allow your clothes to lay nicely and glide over your body.  There is nothing to be ashamed of.  I can promise you that on my graduation day I will be rocking a pair of extra strength SPANX.  Please do not just throw on a dress without proper undergarments.  Either purchase a full slip, shorts or even the underwear.  Not only will you feel great, no one will see your panty line.  (Oh and in a jersey knit dress you can see the outline of a thong!  Buy some SPANX!  You will thank me later!)  SPANX are a girl’s best friend!

I know this was a long post, but thanks for sticking it out.  I hope you had a great weekend and a fabulous Easter.  Be on the lookout for more fun posts.  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first.

March Favorites

March Favorites

Hey nice girls!

I only tried one new product this month and I want to continue to use it before I decide on my overall opinion.  Therefore, this monthly favorites post is just a few pictures I managed to take during the few nice days we had in March.

I was driving around my hometown over Spring Break and noticed
the Goodyear blimp over head.  It was the first time this year I saw it
and snapped a quick picture while I was driving... To make you all
feel better about using my phone while driving I was stopped at
a red light.  Safety first!

This little guy was staring straight at my when I was
sitting in the park and I had to take his picture.  I actually
sent it to my mom and told her I was turning into her because I was
watching the birds around me.

This awful little critter crawled up next to me while I was studying outside.
I saw him and said "Spider... go away you are not welcome here".  However, he
did not move so I did! I managed to let this guy live but freaked out when I
saw a massive ant a few minutes later and killed it.  I felt awful but it was HUGE!

Another example of me turning into my mother.  Not that its a bad thing.  I was sitting
on the park bench watching the geese walk around in the grass.  This was much
better than sitting in my room on such a beautiful day.

Over Spring Break I spent 5 days of my life on the couch reading the Hunger Games trilogy.
I was in need of a small inexpensive book mark to get me through the week because my good one was at BW.
I snatched this at the local bookstore for somewhere around $2.00!  Its fabulous!

Be on the look out for April favorites at the beginning of May.  I am hoping to have a few new beauty products to rant and rave about!  I hope you are having a great Monday!  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first.

My favorite 2012 sun dresses

Happy Monday everyone!

I'm up and moving on this cold deary morning.  I have quite a few things on my to do list today so I am multitasking and blogging in my first two classes.  Shhhh... Don't tell mom!

As promised here this is a post about a few of my favorite spring/ summer dresses that are in the stores this year.

The Limited

1. Draped Sheath Dress: 98.00
2. Inset Waist Dress:  89.00
3. Dotted Tank Dress: 89.90
4. Dolman Sleeve Dress: 79.90

Lilly Pulitzer
1. Whitaker Dress: 388
2. Cassie Dress: 98
3. Peggy Dress: 198
4. Parker Dress; 228

The only two dresses out of these that I would wear to my new job this summer are The Draped Sheath Dress and the Inset Waist Dress from The Limited.  I'm a freeze baby so I would have to have something to cover my shoulders if I was to wear the Inset Waist Dress.

I am absolutely in love with the Lilly dresses.  My goal is to find a good one for graduation in May.  Hopefully I will be able to find one that I will be able to rock my fabulous hot pink heels with.  I have decided that if I graduated in my pink heels from high school I will graduate college in the same pink heels.  I know it is silly, but its what I want to do.

What are your favorite dresses that are out this year?  I would love to see them!

Also, check out the post from last week about a few product tips and tricks I found!  These are absolutely fabulous ideas!  Product Tips & Tricks

Product Tips & Tricks

Hey weekend beauties!

This week has been a fabulous one!  Sunshine, long walks and cute spring outfits!  I’ve been so excited to wake up and look out my window to see the sun shining in the morning.

I thought we should start the weekend off right with a few tips and trick on neat things we can do with products that are already lying around the house.

Smoother legs with conditioner.
Have old conditioner sitting around that you didn't like on your hair?
Try shaving your legs with the extra conditioner.
It will make your legs feel smoother, softer and its cheaper then shaving gel!

Quick fix to dried out mascara.
There's nothing worse when your favorite mascara dries out  a few weeks after you buy it.
Try adding a few drops of saline solution to your mascara tube.
Then insert the wand back into the tube and TA-DA your mascara is like new!
You can do this 2-3 times before ditching the tube in the trash.

No more traveling messes.
Don't you hate opening up your suitcase and there is shampoo, face wash and soap everywhere?
Well try placing a piece of saran wrap on the top of the bottle then tightly secure the lid!
No more mess and no more wasted products!

Stained polished toes?  Whiten with your toothbrush.
Have you ever removed your nail polish and it has stained your nails?
I find it so embarrassing!  It's like broadcasting to the world that you didn't apply a base coat before
painting on the color.
I was excited to read that you can use your whitening toothpaste and a nail brush
to get rid of the stain.

Do you have any fun tips and tricks?  I would love for you to share them in the comments below!  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!  Take time to relax and enjoy a short break!

See you all on Monday with a fabulous post on my favorite spring sundresses.  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first!

Ponytail Wednesdays- Top knot

Hey Wednesday beauties!

Its another beautiful sunny day here in Northeast Ohio.  On this perfect day, nothings standing in my way!  I have had this song stuck in my head since I woke up this morning!  What a fabulous day for a fabulous song!

I have been loving this warm weather, shorts and cute dresses.  However, along with hot weather comes the need for more fun and unique ponytails!  The past few days I have been wearing my hair up because when it is hot outside I do not like to have my hair on the back of my neck.  I find it uncomfortable so I try to rock a few cute looks instead of the everyday pony.

What do you think of the top knot?

Shopping Slang

Hey everyone!  In my post Feel the burn I talked about “The Shopaholic Daily Calendar” for 2012.
In the past few weeks there have been a few “Shopping Slang” posts.   They’re cute so I thought I would share.

Shopping Slang
Shop lift

“When an obsessed shopaholic’s shopping bags get so overfilled that her husband/ boyfriend uses them as dumbbells.

Girl: Have you seen my Saks bags?
Guy: Hang on—I’m almost finished with this set.  I’m gonna have great biceps after this session of shop lifting.

-urbandictionary.com

Shopping Slang
Shop Story

“A shop story is a good story involving retail thriftiness.  It usually involved saving vast amounts of unexpected money on a major purchase or purchases.  It can involve a really good sale or it can involve a deal no one else can match.

Girl 1: I just scored a vintage Burberry purse at an estate sale for $50.
Girl 2: Tell me more, sounds like a great shop story.

Beauty Mistakes

Hey Spring Break beauties!

I hope everyone who is on Spring Break this week is enjoying it as much as I am.  I spent the first 5 days of break completely obsessing over The Hunger Games trilogy.  Needless to say, I didn’t leave the couch much nor did I really make time to talk with all of you.  My deepest apologizes for neglecting you!  Hehe!
I was flipping through Yahoo news the other day and came across a post entitled: “Beauty mistakes that turn men off”.  Well after reading over them I decided not only do some of these beauty no-no’s turn guys off they also turn the heads of the people around you.  Here are my thoughts and opinions on a couple of the beauty mistakes listed in the article.

This is my favorite spring time scent! :)
I cannot live without it during the
spring and summer months!
here
Fragrance Overload

There is nothing worse than standing next to a fellow beauty feeling as if they just walked through the fragrance department of your local Macy’s.  Misting yourself one too many times is not good at a social function nor is it good at the office.  Remember if you are wearing a strong perfume hit your wrist once rubbing the scent onto the other one.  If you are dealing with a fragrance that is not as strong go ahead and mist your one wrist and one finger and then apply it behind your earlobes.
Quick tip:  Applying a fragrance behind your earlobes will help the scent stay longer.  Think about it for a second.  During the day you are constantly washing your hands.  While washing away germs you are also washing away the beautiful scent you paid so much money for.  Try this application method and see if it helps your perfume last longer.

Caked-on Foundation

here
Adding more and more foundation on top of already blended in foundation creates the caked-on look.  If you are trying to create an “extra coverage” foundation there are other ways to help hide blemishes.  Try using a concealer either before or after applying foundation.  Also, when you are applying foundation use a makeup sponge or a brush to avoid the “cake-iness”.  A sponge or a brush will help you get even coverage and will also help you blend out your color better.  Using an applicator will also help you to take action against blemishes.  Don’t touch your face while your applying your makeup…don’t even think about it! :)

I hope you enjoyed today’s post!  Comments, questions and ideas in the comment section right below this post.  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first!

9 ways to Glam up your Wardrobe

Hey everyone!

I apologize for my absence the past week.  I’ve been busy interviewing and accepting a sales position for after graduation in May.  Needless to say I am super excited to have finally landed a job.  It feels as if a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.  I’m also excited to be able to get back to chatting with all of you here on my blog.

Today’s blog is about the 9 items every girl needs to glam up her wardrobe.  If you are hitting the mall this weekend keep these items in mind- you can never have too many of each.  This post should be pretty fun so stick with me!

A Cocktail Ring. Even if it is 100% faux (read in a glamorous French accent) a little light-catching bling ring makes a big statement.  Quick tip: if you are going to wear a huge cocktail ring, make sure your mani is up to par because people will be eyeing up your hand all night.

The Pencil Skirt. Did you know that a pencil skirt is a girl’s best friend?  The skirt traces your hips, hugs your booty, and helps to create that hourglass shape we all desire to have.  Go knee-length if you are shooting for the more classic style or grab your short skirt from the back of your closet if you’re feeling fierce that day!

The LBD.  Every girl must have a go-to little black dress.  Whether it is sleek and minimal or has a ton of rhinestones, there’s no denying it is a wardrobe necessity.  Quick tip: dress your dress up with a great pair of Louboutins.  Every girl deserves a little pop of red underneath her heels! Or make it more casual with a great pair of flats.  Which every style you pick you are 100% ready for any and every LBD occasion.

The Trench Coat. The trench coat is a staple for carrying all of us fashionistas everywhere.  If you don’t already have a trench I highly recommend splurging on this item THIS WEEKEND! I love my trench coat!  It is great for the spring months when you still need a jacket.  Quick tip: try tying the belt that comes with the trench around your waist instead of hooking it like you normally would.  This is way cuter and makes for a fabulous outfit.

Red Stilettos.  Although red heels take confidence to pull off there is also a payoff in all of the fabulous compliments you will receive.  Quick tip: be sure to pair these shoes with a non-red outfit.  It’s the pop of red that makes the outfit.  All red will make the outfit blend together too much.

Oversize Sunglasses.  Add oversized sunnies to your look for a touch of star power for the day.  Were they invented for us to protect our eyes or to add a little mystery to our outfit?  Who really knows the real reason, but trust me when I say the bigger the better!

Skinny Jeans.  Even though these are denim, it does not mean they fall into the slummy weekend “I’m tired of looking nice” apparel.  With a pair of cute heels you are ready to hit the mall and they are totally dress-code appropriate for any occasion.  Quick tip: they are a great substitute to black pants or a skirt for a late night out.

Dangly Earrings.  You don’t need to spend a ton of money to find big fancy earrings.  Chandelier earrings make adding the finishing touches to your night out on the town outfit really simple.  As with your over the top sunglasses the bigger your earrings the more attention you draw to your ears.  Quick tip: if you go with big earrings keep the rest of your jewelry simple.  Sometimes it is possible to over accessorize.

Belt it.  A belt is often an overlooked accessory.  I bet you usually spend all of your time planning your shoes and handbag without thinking to add a belt to make an outfit look complete.  A belt not only makes you look pulled together, it also helps accentuate curves and can help make you look slimmer.

I thought this was a fun way to help everyone spring into the fabulous weather that is right around the corner.  What are your closet must haves?  Let me know in the comments below.  Have a great weekend!  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first.

Ponytail Wednesday: How low can you go??

Happy Leap Day everyone!

I hope you are enjoying your extra 24 hours.  Today feels like the original Ponytail Wednesday from back in high school.  I managed to shower and put my hair right up into a wet ponytail.  Talk about a lazy Wednesday morning.

Today's pony is the low pony.  As you can see in the pictures there are different ways that you can rock this look.

Photo from here

  1. For short hair with lots of layers:  Start this look with wet hair.  This is to help hold your shorter layers in place.  If you feel just having wet hair is not enough hold reach for your super hold styling gel and hair spray and throw your hair back into a low chic pony.  There is nothing a little styling gel and hair spray cannot fix.
  2. Slicked back pony: Pull your hair back in a tight ponytail.  Add the curls before or after you pull your hair back.  If you are going for a more sleek look keep the pony straight and through it over your shoulder.
  3. Low Pony with a wrap: To duplicate this look, take a section of hair from below the ponytail and wrap it around the hair tie and secure it underneath with a bobby pin.  Leave a few pieces of hair down on the sides for added fun.  Don't forget to add a small poof on your crown for extra lift.
I hope you enjoyed today's post.  Stay tuned for my upcoming post "9 ways to glam up your wardrobe".  I should have this post out in a few days.  Have a fantastic day.  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first.

Monday Morning Nonsense

Good Morning bloggers!

Today is this type of day:

I'm currently sitting in my second class of the day wishing I was still fast asleep in bed.  This weekend my body decided it was time to catch a cold.  So here I am struggling with a sore throat, stuffy/runny nose and an on and off headache.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I start to feel better soon!

I was skimming through Pinterest in my first class this morning (I know I'm a great student- HAHA) and I found a few cute things I wanted to share with all of you.  Hopefully it will help us get rid of the Monday morning blues.

Did you ever have an Egg Baby project back in middle school?  I saw this picture and immediately thought of 8th grade and the fun times I had with my Egg Baby.  I wish I had a picture to share with all of you.  I can't even remember her name... what kind of Egg mommy am I?

Look at this wonderful Easter center piece made of Peeps and Gerber Daisies.  This picture brightened up my day and put a smile on my face.  I love peeps and Gerber Daisies.  I couldn't have thought of a better way to make a fun and cheerful center piece.

How can your heart not melt from looking at this little guy.  This makes me miss Cooper.  I'm sure he is currently laying in his bed fast asleep if he is being good.  Unfortunately, he also has his days when he is bad.  If today is a bad day, I'm sure he has the toilet paper strung out all over the living room or he has taken papers off of the kitchen counter.  Regardless of his craziness, we love him to pieces!  Do any of you have a dog that is mischievous when you aren't home?

Here is a cute way to help make your weekly goals look cute and fun.  Make sure your goals are attainable to help keep you on track!  Also you might try adding a completion date to your goals.  What are some of your goals this week?
Start the day off right and make it a great day.  Set attainable goals and do something for yourself today.  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember nice girls always finish first!

Your Cell Phone & Your Acne

Hey everyone!

I bet you are wondering what your cell phone and your acne have in common.  This is something I personally just learned and thought it would be a useful blog topic that most may be interested in.
Picture from here

Did you know that your cell phone can be a main cause for black heads, blemishes or full on breakouts?  Think about it for a second.  During the day you place your phone in your handbag, on the desk for class, or maybe you drop it on the ground.  Each time you do these things your phone picks up more and more bacteria… Gross right!!?

Here’s another fun fact:  Dermatologists can usually tell which ear your hold your phone up to when you are talking on the phone!  I know I would be freaked out if my Dr. told me “Oh I also noticed you hold your phone up to your right ear when you are on the phone”.  AWKWARD!

So do your face a favor and take action against the bacteria that is coming into contact with your face.  Right now as you are reading this reach for a cotton ball and put rubbing alcohol on it or a Lysol wipe and clean off your phone.  Try to add this into your nightly routine.  Right after you wash your makeup off of your face grab your phone and disinfect if for the next day.  If you are someone who breaks out in the cheek area, I bet you will see a huge difference in your face by doing this.

If you have any other acne tips and tricks leave them in the comments below.  I know I would love to hear about them.  Also check out this post for a few more of my tips about keeping your face clean.

Make it a great day!  Be Fierce, Be Fabulous, Be You and remember, nice girls always finish first!
