Yesterday as I am skimming the Yahoo headlines I found an article on Target.
Target is planning on opening their doors at 9:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving. To the crazy Black Friday shoppers this is a miracle. However, to the employees who will have to be pulled away from their family it is more of a nightmare.
I understand the thoughts behind opening earlier. However, if I were the CEO of Target I would be making sure that my employees were compensated in some way for coming in early. Maybe their families get a sneak peak of the discounts, maybe they are given a paid vacation day even if they are not full time, or maybe from 9:00 p.m- 12:00 a.m. on Friday morning those employees are paid time and a half. I don't make the rules by any means but I do wish that the employees are compensated in one way or another.
What is your opinion on the situation? Do you think employees have the right to be upset about opening that late on Friday? Do you think Target should compensate them for working a National Holiday?
Let me know if the comments below about your thoughts on this situation. I would love to hear your oppinions and your feedback. In case you are in need of the link to the article please click TARGET!.
